Our wonderful Grade 6 students departed APPS this morning and will be spending the week at Camp Kangaroobie in Princetown. At Amsleigh Park our Outdoor Education (Camping) program is one of the highlights of the school year for students, and provides an excellent opportunity to develop independence and self-confidence in a supportive environment away from home. During the week, the campers can look forward to a vast array of exciting outdoor education activities that include canoeing, ropes course, farm activities, obstacle course, survival lunch, and the bush game. Additionally they will visit the Otway Fly on the way to camp, and the Shipwreck Coast on the way home, taking in some of Victoria’s famous tourist attractions. Having attending many school camps I can say that there is something very special about being away with friends and teachers, and I look forward to spending a few days with the campers.
