Wow, what an exciting ‘Education Week’ we are having at Amsleigh Park Primary School. It all started on Monday with a bumper assembly, showcasing performances by our choir ‘Leigh Club,’ aerobics teams and a gymnastics solo. On Tuesday we had ‘grandparents’ day and it was great to see so many families taking the opportunity to visit. As I walked around our classrooms it was obvious how much our grandparents love to visit, sometimes taking them back to their own school days. On Wednesday we had our annual ‘Open Night’ with great attendance from existing and prospective families. Open night was capped off with a reprise of the performances from Monday assembly. Highlights included fantastic performances of both solo and massed singing from our Leigh Club students. On Thursday we came dressed up as our favourite book characters, which is always a fun event. Students and their teachers got into the spirit and the array of costumes and originality was just terrific. The week will be completed on Friday with a special incursion ‘Witches, Giants, Peaches and Twits, based on the works by famous children’s author Roald Dahl.  Our Education Week celebrations have been bigger than ever, and special thanks to organisers Miss Den Elzen and Miss Hayes, and all our teachers and support staff. Thanks also to our wonderful students for their performances and participation, and to all of our families who came along to celebrate with us. We are very proud of everything that Amsleigh Park offers for our students, and also acknowledge that we are part of a fantastic government school system. There’s certainly a lot to celebrate, we hope you enjoyed it.
